As well as training with Kancho on his visits to the UK in both London and Dundee. In 1995, while training in Tenshinkan Karate, Barry was given the title of Chief Instructor for England, but for various reasons in 2004 he broke away from his roots and formed the Shogai Karate Federation. To this day Barry is busy working on developing a well rounded martial arts system.Barry believes that Shogai, like many other martial arts systems, will never be complete because times and attitudes are always changing and so the martial arts have to change with them. Therefore, we as Martial Artist must strive to compete with an ever changing world.Barry says,"On the day I look at Shogai and think, there, I've done it, I have a completed martial arts system is the day that I will stop training and hang up my Gi."So to all you Martial Artist out there, old and new, always remember; No matter what Form or Style of martial art you train in ALWAYS ENJOY, HAVE FUN AND NEVER EVER STOP LEARNING.ThanksBarry, Ossu!
